With the recent warm days and cold nights, Sun Valley Trekking guides: Joe St.Onge, Brian Vaughn and Patrick Graham went out yesterday to check for the 1st mid-winter corn and found it. 3000′ feet of carving brought smiles to everyone’s face on a beautiful sunny February day.
Don’t worry, there is still powder out there too….
Daily Powder Tour :: Jewels on Tools
One of our women’s daily powder groups who head out skiing most weeks, The Jewels on Tools, was up in the Galena Pass area this week with guide Marc Hanselman. From the looks of Marc’s images, as to where he took the Jewels, the skiing was phenomenal!
Bench Hut :: Early February 2012
Earlier this week in the Sawtooth Mountains, Marc Hanselman guided a group of skiers for three days using our Sun Valley Trekking Bench Hut as basecamp. He reported back saying the trip was great with good snow stability, splitter blue skies, and untracked pow! Here are a few photos from his tour…

Skiing between Sun Vallley Trekking’s Bench and Fishhook Huts in the spectacular Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho. This is a great Haute Route ski expedition combining two nights at comfortable ski huts with two nights camping amongst the granite spires that give the Sawtooth their name. Amazing ski terrain abounds, ranging from steep couloirs to beautiful powder bowls in this seldom visited corner of our beautiful planet. On this trip, we found perfect stable powder on cooler aspects and beautiful sunny spring days, making for memories that last a lifetime!
