Our weekly Powder Tours have been reaping the rewards of a great winter…and our guides obsession to get clients into fresh soft snow. While tours these days might cross wind affected ridge tops, clients are still dropping in to lines filled with fun untracked powder! Here are a few images from a tour earlier this week that found great snow only a few miles north of Ketchum out the Lake Creek drainage. Thanks for sharing the great images Wolf!

Backcountry skiing on Ryan Peak in the Boulder Mountains of Idaho.

The alpine continues to provide good skiing in our area. Joe, Patrick, and Kyle climbed to the highest summit in the Boulder Mountains, Ryan Peak, this past Saturday and skied it’s north face. Here are some of Joe’s photos from their ski tour. Dust off your skis and give us a call to get you up one of these amazing peaks. This week is going to be prime with freezing temps in the high country and the potential for a little snow!

The Spice of Life :: Spring Skiing

It has been said many times, “variety is the spice of life.” If you are a skier, this quote holds true for Spring Skiing in Idaho, especially this year! As evidenced by the following photos, we’ve found absolutely amazing conditions the past week ranging from powder to corn on all angles and in a wide range of terrain.

Though the snow has melted from the valley floors, the snowpack in the mountains is currently at its deepest this year and the Spring Skiing is going off!

You wouldn’t know it by the weather we’ve had here in Hailey, but, the mountains north of Ketchum have been getting hit with great snow this past week! The first set of images, captured by guide Kyle Coshow, highlights a break in the storms, good pow, and the fun terrain Galena Pass has to offer. As for the second set, Joe St.Onge had a great day guiding the “Bros in the Snow” traversing the Boulder Mountains from Mushroom Ridge to Galena Lodge. Awesome powder turns, many face shots and skiing to the lodge where cold beers by a warm fire finished a classic Sun Valley ski tour.

February Corn?!
With the recent warm days and cold nights, Sun Valley Trekking guides: Joe St.Onge, Brian Vaughn and Patrick Graham went out yesterday to check for the 1st mid-winter corn and found it. 3000′ feet of carving brought smiles to everyone’s face on a beautiful sunny February day.

Don’t worry, there is still powder out there too….
